Job Description

             

POSITION: Warehouse Delivery 1  

LOCATION: Facility Services

 

SALARY:  Pay Grade 59

 

REPORTS TO: General Services Foreman

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full time - 12 Months

 

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of warehouse experience is preferred but not required.

 

JOB GOAL:  Performs a variety of tasks to help ensure the day-to-day success of the school   

                     district’s Custodial supply delivery needs needs, furniture needs, Etc 

KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Someone who is reliable and willing to work in a warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of forklifts, pallet jacks, handtrucks, standup lifts, and box trucks. 
• Ability to work in ever changing environments and able to multitask.
• Able to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs deliveries and pickups of custodial supplies and equipment, mail, furniture, and other assigned items/supplies to ensure quality and quantity of products.
• Loads and unloads materials and supplies using available hand trucks, pallet jacks, and fork lifts.
• Help setup for major district and departmental events.
• Available to work after hours for emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk up and down steps in a building.
• Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to regularly lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds of equipment/objects on a regular basis.
• Must be able to lift 90 pounds or more occasionally.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments, both hot and cold.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

• High school diploma or GED from regionally or nationally accredited institutions.

• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

 

• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to perform the duties of the position.
