POSITION:                               Student Animal Barn Intern

                                                    

LOCATION:                              South Johnston High School

 

SALARY:                                   $15.00/hour                                               

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:          2022-2023 School Year

 

PURPOSE:  The student barn interns will gain valuable experience in managing, raising livestock and proper techniques for high standards of animal care.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the agricultural teachers with the care of the animals at the SJHS livestock barn.
• Clean animal stalls and ensure a sanitary environment for the animals.
• Feed and water the animals.
• Prepare the animals for animal shows through regular grooming and showmanship activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
