Job Description

TITLE:  Grounds I  

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months

SALARY:  Grade 56 ($2279-$2713)          

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor               

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and cares for athletic fields
• Maintains and cares for school grounds
• Prepares and plants seeds, bulbs, tree seedlings, and shrubbery
• Mows grass
• Prunes trees and trims hedges
• Adjusts and repairs equipment used in landscaping and grounds maintenance
• Lines and marks athletic fields
• Other duties as requested by Supervisor

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Thorough knowledge of athletic fields planning and maintenance

REQUIREMENT:

• Must obtain Herbicide License to spray chemicals within 6 months of employment
