POSITION: Assistant Principal
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- North Carolina Principal’s License (current or pending)
- Three or more years of successful teaching experience
- Strong instructional background and leadership skills
- Skills in building interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and instructional data analysis.
- Skills necessary to assist in the development and implementation of all school programs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the principal in developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program
- Support school leadership in analyzing student achievement data to improve classroom instruction
- Assist with student discipline and help ensure a safe and orderly school
- Meet with students, parents, and staff for the purpose of interpreting and administering school and system policies and programs
- Participate with the principal in the management of the school and school activities
- Supervise evening and after school activities, as needed
- Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal
- Perform other duties as assigned
